These Baklava Cookie Bars offer a buttery, sweet and crunchy topping to our already amazing Cookie Squares. The browned butter turns into a decadent caramel with the addition of our icing packet and heavy cream, while the walnuts add a nutty crunch. You’ll find yourself going back for more (and that’s just fine because they are keto and sugar-free)!

Ingredients

1 package Frosted Cookie Squares
½ cup butter, softened
1 oz cream cheese, softened
1 egg
Icing packet from Frosted Cookie Squares
1 stick butter
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 tbsp heavy cream

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
Add the cream cheese, butter and egg into a bowl and use a handheld mixer to combine. Pour in the cookie square package, setting aside the icing packet.
Blend the mixture until fully combined, then press evenly into the baking pan. Bake for 19 minutes, then take out to cool.
In a small sauce pan, add the stick of butter and heat over medium heat, until melted. Pour in the contents of the icing packet. Continue to cook until it turns a light brown color, stirring continually. Take off heat. Add heavy cream and whisk together. Then add in the walnuts and toss to coat. Let cool slightly.
After the cookie layer has cooled, pour the walnut topping onto the bottom layer. Spread evenly over the top and refrigerate until completely cool and the topping has set, about an hour.
Slice into 16 bars, or however many works for you, and they are ready to enjoy!
