Seizure Disorders
One of the greatest needs was with our youngest child, Lily, who was adopted at birth. Lily is challenged with a significant learning disability. She is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet, and though she is in her early 20’s, her mind hasn’t progressed beyond that of a two-year old. At age 13, she began having full Tonic Clonic (grand mal) seizures. The prescribed medication helped reduced the number of seizures each month, but they still continued and it also gave her anxiety, made her agitated and often very irritable. For years we looked for better ways to control the seizures without the disturbing side effects. As we began to hear about the amazing results some people were getting with CBD, we decided to make the change. Working with her neurologist, we slowly transitioned her off of the medication she had been taking for 7 years - and the results have been extremely encouraging. Since she has been using CBD we have seen a significant drop in how many seizures she has each month, a marked improvement in her mood; she is no longer constantly irritable and she seems to have significantly less anxiety. We are encouraged with what we have seen so far and are hoping to see even more improvement over time.
